Quinte West is a large, amalgamated municipality to the west of Belleville. Home of the largest air base in Canada and gateway to the famed Trent-Severn waterway. Quinte West boasts a progressive city government and vibrant community. It is a very diverse region from a housing standpoint. It offers everything from lower priced homes in Trenton to grand waterfront homes and rural estates in the rolling hills north of the 401.
Trenton is the urban hub of Quinte West and the home of its municipal government. Situated at the mouth of the Trent River, the entrance to the Trent-Severn Waterway. Trenton boasts a great, newly appointed marina right in the revitalized downtown. A great community with lots of amenities, schools, shopping. Housing tends to be a bit more affordable than Belleville. There are lots of housing options available including several new home developments on the west end of town.
Sidney is the former rural township which amalgamated with Trenton to from Quinte West. With some more suburban development in the south it is mostly rural with many large farms, hobby farms and waterfront property. Great for equestrians, naturalists and those just wanting some space which is not totally remote from the conveniences in-town has to offer.
The Oak Hills area is sought out by those looking for rolling hills, spectacular views and wooded properties. A beautiful area only minutes to Belleville, Trenton and the 401 homes here tend to be in the mid to high range price wise. Price is definitely impacted by the size of the land included. This area is home to the clean and popular Oak Lake and is full of natural springs providing fresh clean water to many homes and the Oak Hills Spring Water company.
The Town of Frankford is small community in Quinte West just north of Trenton and only 15 minutes from Belleville. Also situated on the Trent River with several new home developments on both sides of the river Frankford offers very affordable housing in a small community setting.
